High rate tax payers

Due to UK tax regulations, if you are a high rate tax payer, you can reclaim the tax on your donations. If you want to do this, you must fill in the Gift Aid form (see below), and send it with your cheque made payable to "AMREF" to the above address.

Gift Aid Explained

Gift AidBy making a Gift Aid Declaration, donors enable AMREF to reclaim the tax that they have already paid on their donation. This means that, for all UK Taxpayers, AMREF can reclaim an additional 28p for every pound that they have given - at no extra cost to the donor! Gift Aid is therefore an extremely valuable tool for all UK charities.

When asking friends and family to sponsor you, please remember to explain the Gift Aid system to them and ask if they are eligible for Gift Aid. If so, all they need to do is to fill in their name and full address, and tick the Gift Aid Box on the Sponsorship Form. These details will not be used for mailing purposes, nor will they be passed onto any other organisation, however we do need this information in order to reclaim the tax from the Government.

We would be most grateful if you could take the time to do this, as it increases the value of your sponsorship still further. For example, a fundraising total of £1,000 under Gift Aid will produce an extra £280 for AMREF - just imagine what that extra money could be used to achieve in Africa!
